The Explorer Lounge

 

Situated at the bow on Deck 8, this lounge, together with its balcony on Deck 9, incorporates a small stage, from where the Expedition Team regale us each evening with details of the events coming up next day. These are usually followed by a light-hearted talk about Norwegian culture, trolls, and myths. 

Outside of those events the lounge provides a comfy seating space (handily located just ahead of the Explorer Bar, with its fine selection of cocktails) and panoramic views of where the ship is heading.

Yesterday we attended a fascinating lecture on how best to set up your mobile phone camera to take shots of the Northern Lights. We both learned a lot, and now feel relatively confident that we'll grab some good pix, but during the course of the lecture we were also reminded of our cameras' ability to take panorama shots. Something we've not exploited at all. So here's my attempt at a panorama of the Explorer Lounge, and while I've been typing this Nikki's been down on Deck 6, where you can circumnavigate the deck, and taken this one.
